Children's Funerals
When a baby, child or young person dies, there are no words that make the loss easier. Our role is to provide calm, compassionate guidance and take care of each practical detail at your family's pace.

Government Support
The Children's Funeral Fund can meet eligible burial, cremation and coffin costs.

Here Day and Night
Our telephone lines are answered 24 hours a day for immediate guidance.
Support with every decision, without pressure
The death of a child is an experience no family expects to face. You do not need to understand the funeral process before speaking to us, and you do not need to make every decision at once.
Your Personal Funeral Advisor will listen carefully, explain each step in plain language and help you arrange a funeral that reflects your child, your beliefs and the wishes of your family.
We can support funerals for babies, children and young people who had not reached their 18th birthday at the time of their death. We can also guide families following a stillbirth.
A farewell that feels personal
From a simple, quiet service to a funeral filled with colour, music and memories, we will help you create something meaningful.
What We Provide Without a Funeral Director Charge
When arranged in line with our children's service specification, the following core services are provided by Jennifer Ashe & Son without charge to the family.
The Funeral
The Children's Funeral Fund may contribute up to £300 towards an eligible coffin, shroud or casket. Additional choices and services outside the basic specification may carry a charge. A full written estimate will be provided before arrangements are confirmed.
The Children's Funeral Fund for England
The fund is available regardless of household income and can help with eligible costs when the burial or cremation takes place in England.
Families do not normally need to make the claim themselves
For a child under 18, or a baby stillborn after the 24th week of pregnancy, eligible burial and cremation providers can claim their fees directly. We can also claim eligible funeral director expenses, including up to £300 towards a coffin, shroud or casket.
The fund is not means-tested. We will explain what is covered, what may sit outside the scheme and any additional choices before you agree to them.
Read the official government guidanceBurial Fees
Eligible burial fees, including certain grave and interment costs, can be claimed through the fund.
Cremation Fees
The standard cremation fee and eligible medical certification costs can be covered.
Coffin Support
The fund can contribute up to £300 towards an eligible coffin, shroud or casket.
